- Salamander Sinkers
works great for salmon in rivers.
- They are designed
to slide over rocks and other obstructions.
- Use for bottom
bouncing and drift fishing.
- Control the speed
of the drift by weight selection.
- Lead free and snag
resistant
The diagram below
shows how much area can be covered using the Salamander
Sinkers. By targeting cast to specific areas an angler
can cover a vast amount of space. Also
by leaving the bale open after the cast the current
will carry the bait down stream and pull line off
the spool greatly extending the casting distance.

Anglers can choose
one of our models with enough weight so that the bait
travels at current speed, bouncing occasionally on
the bottom where salmon hold. Salamander Sinkers snag
resistant properties allows anglers to fish obstructions
that would hang up traditional rigs. Configure the
rig either with the inline method or 3-way swivel
to make rock covered fishing environments totally
accessible. Salamander Sinkers lead free construction
makes it ideal for anglers and the environment. Its
inline design prevents the bait from wrapping around
the sinker. It doesn't tumble and twist when retrieved.
Rig the sinker by
tying the pole line to the swivel on open end of the
sinker and tie a 2-10 foot fluorocarbon or monofilament
leader on the swivel on the closed end. The swivels
allow your line to move freely without twisting and
tangling into the sinker. Use 15-30 lb test for the
pole and 8 -12 lb for the leader. This set up will
help your gear endure the stress of a large river
system. Ensure that you have a capacity of 150 –
225 yards because a hooked King can cover 100 yards
easily.
A host of baits can
be used such as Spin ‘n’ glows, thundersticks,
hot n tots, flys, spawn, yarn, and even night crawlers.
By adjusting the weight inside the sinker the angler
can control the speed of the rig in current.
Cast the rig upstream,
take out your slack, but do not retrieve. Let the
sinker fall to the bottom and then allow the current
move it down stream. Apply a quick jerk to the pole
when the current lodges sinker against a rock. After
your rig has gone downstream retrieve and repeat.
